Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute 

TARI will be involved in several workpackages in Promise II as they are the local expertise based in Tanzania. 

Dennis E. Tippe – Local coordinator 
Dennis is a senior scientist (agronomy) with a specialization in parasitic weeds management in Sub-Saharan Africa based at TARI-Uyole, Mbeya Tanzania. He will coordinate in developing, testing and conducting participatory research activities in Tanzania. 

Juliana Mwakasendo- Technology Dissemination Expert 
Juliana is a Social Scientist and Gender Balance issues based at TARI-Uyole, Mbeya Tanzania. She has an expertise in technologies transfers and farmers participatory works in Tanzania. She will conduct farmer’s participatory technologies evaluation and dissemination activities of the proven technologies in the country. 

Atugonza Bilara- Rice Breeder
Atugonza is a rice and maize breeder based at TARI-Uyole, Mbeya Tanzania. He is a well renowned maize and rice breeder in Tanzania. He will be developing, testing and conducting participatory research activities with farmers in Tanzania.

Veronica E. Twisa – Technician 
Veronica is a field and screen-house technician with over 8 years of similar work based at TARI-Uyole, Mbeya Tanzania. She will be helping in developing, testing and dissemination of the proven technologies to the rice farmers in Tanzania. 

Geoffrey Rweikiza– Technician 
Geoffrey is a field and irrigation technician with over 5 years of similar work based at TARI-Uyole, Mbeya Tanzania. He will be helping in developing, evaluating and dissemination of the proven technologies to the rice farmers in Tanzania.
